Raft Wars is a lobbed-projectile duel: two rival raft crews face off on open water, and the only way to win is to blast the other side into the sea before they do the same to you. Instead of a straight-line shooter, it plays like an artillery game — you judge angle and power on a sand-shooter slingshot, watch the shot arc through the air, and adjust for the next exchange based on where it lands.
Each fight is short but tense. Your raft only gives you a few steps of room to dodge left or right, so staying still is the fastest way to get hit, and firing back immediately isn't always smarter than repositioning first and lining up a cleaner shot.
How to play
WASD moves you along your raft, the mouse aims your shot, and clicking fires it. Hold the shot before releasing to control how far the sand bag travels — a short tap lobs it in close, a longer hold sends it further but takes a beat longer to line up, which is exactly when the other raft gets a free shot at you. Landing a hit knocks the opponent back and chips at their balance; land enough and they go into the water and the round ends. You'll work through a run of opponents, each a little quicker to punish a sloppy shot than the last, building toward a tougher final bout.
Tips
Fire from the edge of your raft nearest the water you just cleared — it gives you more room to dodge in the direction the next shot is likely to come from. Watch where your last shot landed rather than where you aimed; the arc drifts a little with distance, and correcting off the actual splash is faster than re-aiming from scratch. Don't hold the charge longer than you need to reach the target — every extra second is a window for the other raft to line up and fire first. Against a moving opponent, aim slightly ahead of where they're standing rather than dead-center on them.
Similar games on Choppy Orc
If the raft duels click, a few other games on Choppy Orc reward the same kind of precise, moment-to-moment control. OvO is a stripped-down parkour and skating game where every jump and slide has to be timed exactly, no aiming involved but the same demand for tight input. Level Devil flips the formula into a trap-filled platformer where the level itself is working against you, testing reaction time instead of aim. Retro Bowl swaps the water and slingshots for a retro-styled football season, trading twitch duels for short, arcade-paced play calling.
Raft Wars is a mouse-and-keyboard game at heart — the aiming needs the precision a mouse gives you — so it's a better fit at a desktop or laptop than on a touchscreen. Rounds are short enough to fit into a spare few minutes, but the ramping difficulty gives it enough legs for a longer sitting too.
Questions about Raft Wars
Is Raft Wars unblocked at school?
Raft Wars runs in an ordinary browser tab from choppyorc.org, with nothing to download or install, so it plays on most school Chromebooks and work computers. If a network filter blocks the site, only that network's administrator can change it.
What are the controls for Raft Wars?
Use WASD to move along your raft, aim with the mouse, and click to fire your slingshot. Hold the click before releasing to charge the shot for extra distance.
Is Raft Wars a two-player game?
You play against a series of computer-controlled opponents, one raft duel at a time, rather than against a second local player.
Does the game save my progress?
Progress is tracked within your browser session, so staying on the same tab keeps you moving forward through the run of opponents.
Can I play Raft Wars on a phone or Chromebook?
It works best with a mouse and keyboard because aiming relies on precise cursor control, so a desktop, laptop, or Chromebook with a trackpad is a better fit than a touchscreen.
How long does a round take?
A single raft duel usually only takes a couple of minutes, though the difficulty ramps up as you face tougher opponents further into the run.
